Bridging The Gap: Engagement is your Champion for process flows
In my elementary years, I remember doing math problems without showing my work or how I arrived at the answer. My teacher frowned on my decision and took points off my score because she wanted to see how I got the solution. She told me going through the steps helped her to see what I missed or did wrong so she could help me to learn this step for the next problem. I thought it was a waste of time, but quickly learned that it was helping me to learn to do math. Fast forward today, I have an appreciation and respect for process flow because I know it will drive me to the solution and help me to solve problems when they present themselves.
While this is an old story, the lesson learned from it is timeless. Cooperating and trusting a proven process continues to be the champion of achieving results today. So, humor me for this moment: just like my teacher’s way of work helped me to learn math, I would like to introduce a way of work that establishes operational intelligence within your team, excites growth, drives the right results, and solve problems. Drum roll please (LOL)…it is an Operations Engagement Flow (OEF) that empowers leaders and their teams to do the right things at the right time every day. How? By the following parts:
1. Data engages Information
2. Information engages Decision
3. Decision engages Action
4. Action engages Results
5. Results engages Feedback
I submit that you have used this type of thinking in some form in the capacity of being a leader. It may not be set up the way it is mentioned here, but you were able to arrive at Results through each of these moving parts in some way. And because this is a standard way of work, it will make abnormal conditions stick out quicker, so you can address them with more efficiency and less time.
OEF will revolutionize your team’s culture and allow you to share concrete Information gathered and studied from healthy Data patterns and trends. You will make decisive and strategic Decisions that add value to your team and the product. Your Actions will be formulated to hit their targets on time and the right Results will be consistently achieved. Feedback will be transformative and transparent, so that the team will learn from their mistakes and sustain the things done well for round 2, the next day, and so on…
What are you waiting for? The baton is in your hand. Use the OEF thinking and approach to aid you in winning your daily race to achieve the BIG Results.
